The use of nonwoven materials is primarily driven by their excellent functional properties:
- Microporosity
- Hydrophilicity (hydrophobicity)
- Good air permeability combined with dust protection
- Antiseptic properties (barrier against microorganisms)
- Lint-free surface
Spunbond is a nonwoven polypropylene microporous breathable material. It is resistant to acids and alkalis and can be easily sterilized. By adding various special additives during production, additional functional properties can be achieved: antiseptic, hydrophilic, hydrophobic, antibacterial, and more.
Laminated spunbond is spunbond coated with polyethylene. It is soft, flexible, and impermeable to liquids. Laminated spunbond and spunlace are used in products that must prevent moisture and liquid penetration.
