Spunlace —made by gluing polyester (30%) and viscose (70%) fibers with high-pressure water jets without using glue. The material formed as a result of this process is light, soft, flexible and voluminous, environmentally friendly. An important feature of spunlace is its barrier properties against microorganisms, non-toxicity, no local irritant and allergic effects during contact with the skin and mucous membranes. Spunlace is practically similar to cotton in terms of overall comfort. Spunlace is characterized by a lack of lint, improved barrier properties against microorganisms and closeness to cotton fabrics with tactile sensations.
The main fields of application of Spanlace:
dressing materials instead of gauze and cotton wool, personal hygiene products;
absorbent wipes and tampons during operations;
for treating burns and purulent wounds;
for the production of disposable surgical underwear, various kits and medical products;
for cosmetic products.
Main qualities:
The main advantage is a high degree of absorption. During the manufacture of spunlace, modern technologies for processing natural cellulose are used, which makes it possible to obtain products that replace gauze and cotton wool in medicine and are superior to the latter in some properties, for example, absorption. For example, the absorption of gauze is 5-7 g/g (1 g of gauze absorbs 5-7 g of water for a certain period), and spunlace is 10 g/g and above.
The material has a lint-free structure, is well sterilized, and has good air permeability. Spunlace can also be hydrophobic or hydrophilic, its properties depend on the composition and method of weaving fibers. So, spunlace can be completely made of viscose or polyester, and also have a different percentage ratio of these two components. The material can have a transverse weave of fibers (cross) and longitudinal. Spunlace with a longitudinal weave is more elastic.
Density from 28 g/m2 to 65 g/m2, width up to 2.08 m.
